LSU Foundation

The LSU Foundation is the main academic fundraising entity for LSU, the LSU AgCenter, the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center and the LSU System Office. It is a separate organization devoted to fostering private financial support for these campuses. Gifts to the LSU Foundation add a margin of excellence over and above state support and are not intended to replace state funds. The LSU Foundation receives restricted and unrestricted gifts and bequests, gifts of stock, and gifts made through corporate matching gift programs. The Foundation manages the investment of endowed funds and other private assets that, as of June 30, 2011, totaled $538 million. In most cases, when an alumnus or friend makes a gift to a college or unit, that gift is actually made to the LSU Foundation, which then manages the donation and makes the funds available to the college or unit the donor chose.
