Our LSU Tigers were very well represented on Saturday, January 28th, at the Capital Area Food Bank. Our team of 16 volunteers was assigned to sort frozen foods including beef, chicken, pork, and some prepared foods. By the end of our three hour shift we had helped sort 11,700 lbs of food, enough for ~9,700 average sized meals (or ~2,400 Cajun sized meals!). Sadly, due to the high demand for food assistance in Central Texas, all of the 11,700 lbs of food will be distributed to soup kitchens, food pantries, and partner agencies by Wednesday...in just three days, so please help out Capital Area Food Bank whenever you can. Donations are currently being accepted at HEB and Randalls for the Souper Bowl of Caring with a goal to provide one million meals to hungry Central Texans!

We would like to thank our volunteer team for representing LSU and helping to make a difference in the community!

Any questions, comments or suggestions can be sent to Steve Sliman.

And stay tuned for our next volunteer activity with Habitat For Humanity sometime in the Spring!!
